Varaha Temple Pushkar

There are specific reasons for the ten incarnations of Lord Vishnu especially to safeguard sages and people from the cruel demons. Jay and Vijay are the Janitors of Vaikunta, the residence of Lord Vishnu. They the visitors of  Lord Vishnu and permit to enter in to Vikunta. One day, the four Kumaras of Brahma namely Sanakakumara, Sanatanakumara, Sanandanakumara and Sanatkumara arrived for the darshan of Lord Vishnu. Jay and Vijay objected saying that Vishnu is lonely with Lakshmi and could not be disturbed. The Kumars get angry and given them curse to born on earth. Vishnu came as asked them to revert back the curse. They have expressed their inability and Vishnu given conclusion either to born human beings for seven times or born three times as Demons and exterminate by him. Jay and Vijay choosed to born as Demons and exterminate by Lord Vishnu. They took birth as Hiranyaksha and Hiranyakasipa followed with Dantavakta and  Sisupala, Ravana and Kumbakarna and exterminated by Lord Vishnu in his incarnations Varaha, Nrusimha, Sri Krishna and Sri Rama respectively. 

When Jay and Vijay were born as demons Hiranyaksha and Hiranyakasipa, they were killed by Vishnu in the incarnations of Varaha and Nrusimha. Hiranyaksha made penance and obtained boon from Brahma that he should not get death with Gods, human beings, demons and animals. He has ignored to ask about boar. Hiranyaksha take away earth (Bhoo Devi) to Pathal and submerged under sea. Brahma prayed Vishnu and a boar emerged from the nostrils of Vishnu. It grew like a mountain and take Earth on his fangs. He fights with Hiranyaksha for so many years and killed him. 

The ancient Varaha Kshetram is at Pushkar of Rajasthan State 15 km for Ajmer Railway Station. There is road facility to Pushkar from all cities in India. The Temple believed to be one of the eight self manifested temple of Lord Vishnu. Varaha means wild boar and is the third of the ten incarnations of Lord Vishnu. The big temple ancient and built nine hundred years ago. The head of the statue is in the form of boar and the remaining is human body. The Muslim ruler Aurangjeb demolished the temple with hatred on Hindu Religion since part of the idol seems to be human. In the 18th century, the Raja of Jaipur reconstructed the temple. The temple complex is peaceful and there are several places to perform single and combined meditation. There are the statues of three murthi Brahma, Vishnu and Maheswar. The temple was renovated several times to bring the ancient glory. The historical land marks were protected. The height of the temple is 150 feet.    

Varaha Temple-India

The Principle Deity and the Goddess called as Varaha Swamy and Pundareekavalli. There are the idols of Gaurdha and other Hindu Gods. The temple is beautiful built with stones in Marvadi tradition of Rajasthan. The compound wall constructed with stones and stand as guard to the temple. There are Murals, entrance gates and Vindhyamaras engraved on the walls. Spacious and decorated Sanctum the Principle Deity Varah Swamy idol of  feet height appear beautifully, The temple engraved with beautiful ornaments. The temple seems incredible with the Dome, White walls and Pillars. The 7km path from the temple leads to the bathing Ghats of Pushkar Lake.

Pushkar Lake

Hindus feel the Pushkar lake is most divine than the other Teerdh described in the Hindu legends, since Brahma, Vishnu and Parameswar presents here.  This is the only place where Lord Brahma worshipped and explains the powers of creation. There are 52 bathing Ghats around the big lake. Devotees believe that taking bath in the lake will wash their sins The lake in the valley is surrounded by of Aravali Mountains. There are green forests, narrow paths and beautiful gardens around the lake. The nearby temples connected with small roads with the bathing Ghats.

Brahma Temple

There is an ancient Brahma temple of the Eighth Century nearer to the Varaha Temple. This is the only temple of Brahma. A dispute on the supremacy of creation rose between Lord Brahma and Lord Vishnu. Shiva created a pillar connecting the three worlds and asked them to invent the end of the Pillar. Brahma gave false statement with the evidence of Mugali flower that he has identified the end of the pillar. Vishnu agreed that he could not find. Shiva felt angry and cursed Brahma not to have any worship and Mogali should not be used in the worship of Shiva. Vishnu was blessed to have worship. Hence Brahma has no temples other than this temple.

Raghunath Mandir

There are several temples and Raghnath Mandir constructed in southern tradition and attracting tourists. In ancient times the temple called as Rang Ji temple. The temple considered to be Vishnu temple two hundred years ago. Rama, one of the incarnations of Lord Vishnu reside here as the principle deity. There are the idols of Venugopla, Lakshmi and sub temples of Lord Vishnu incarnations in the temple complex.
