Kumaraswamy known as Karthikeya launch Agneya Ashtra (arrow) on the Shiva Ling (Atma Ling) wear by Tarakasura in his neck before slaughter the Monster. The Shiva Ling spitted into five fragments and one fragment fallen in Soma Rama. The fragments fallen on earth started to grow up towards Kailash. To avoid the grown of the fragments, Indra, Chandra (Moon), Vishnu, Surya (Sun) and Karthikeya established the fragments in the five holy places of Amarara Rama in Amravati of Guntur District, Soma Rama in Bhimavaram, Ksheera Rama in Palakollu of West Godavari District, Draksha Rama and Kumara Rama in Samalkot of East Godavari District with the names of Amareswara, Someswara, Ksheera Rameswara, Bheemeswara and Kumara Rameswara respectively. In Puranas the temple described as Yoga Kshetram. The person having “Yoga” or opportunity given by god to visit only can visit the temple.    

Shiva accompany with Bala Chamundika in Amara Rama, Sri Raja Rajeswari Devi in Soma Rama, Parvathi in Kshira Rama, Manykyamba in Draksha Rama and Bala Tripura Sundari in Kumara Rama, the incarnations of Maa Parvathi. Since Kumaraswamy established the Shiva Ling here the deity became famous as Kumara Bheemeswara.  Limestone Shiva Ling appears white like a pearl of 16 feet height established in the Ground Floor of the Shrine go up and reached the 2nd floor exceeding the 1st floor. Abhisek will be performed in the 2nd floor. The Porch of the temple constructed with one hundred pillars consisting of different idols of gods. There is a Nandi Statue engraved in a stone is at the entrance as protection. This temple is like as Bheemeswar Temple in Draksharama. The temple was constructed in a span of 100 years during the 9th Century. There is a pond on the eastern side of the Porch and called as Puskarini. The Goddess is famous as Bala Tripura Sundari.

The main entrance of the temple is also popular as Surya Dwaram. The Shiva Ling is the tallest one among the Shiva Ling in Pancharama. It is the reason for which Abhisek and other Seva will be performed in the 2nd floor. Abishek will be performed daily in Karthika and Margashira months. Kalyana Mahotsavam festival will be performed on Ekadasi (5th days) before the no moon day in Magha month occur generally in February or March. Maha Shiva Ratri festival will be performed with most glorious.  

Sri Chalukya Kumararama Bhimeswara Swamy Temple timings & how to reach Kumararamam

The Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC), Kakinada Depot runs circular tours covering all the 5 Pancharamas (Amaravathi, Bhimavaram, Palakollu, Draksharama, and Samalkota) in a span of 24 hours mainly in Karthika Masam and Maha Shivaratri. The journey starts at 8:00 pm and ends at 8:00 pm next day covering 700 km approximately.

The temple kept open from 6 AM to 12 Noon and from 4 PM to Night 8 PM.
