Uttarkashi
Uttarkashi is a town situated on the banks of river Bhagirathi at a height of 1158 meters above sea level in Uttarakhand towards north to Rishikesh at a distance of 180 km and is the district headquarters of Uttarkashi district. Pilgrims have to stay at Uttarkhasi for their onward yatra to Gangotri and Yamunotri. There are several Ashrams and Dharma Salas in Uttarkhasi for stay. Sri Kashi Vishwanath temple situated on bank of river Bhagirathi is the oldest temple. The temple offers the impressive view of river Bhagirathi and its surrounding mountains. Pilgrims visit this temple along with Char Dham Temples.
