Soma Nandi is towards east of Nandyal and in the middle of the town. The temple is very near the powerful Jagajanani temple. Soma (Moon) performed penance for Shiva. It is surprise to note that on all full moon days, the rays from the moon are directly falling on Shiva Linga. It is also surprise that the first ray falls of the moon after the lunar eclipse falls on the Lingam.
