Perential Ritual Facilities at Ramapura in Varanasi

Gaya and Prayagaraj are the places to perform Shraddha Karma along with (Varanasi) Kashi. Matru Devobhav, Pitru Devobhav, Acharya Devobhav and Athidhi Devobhav are literal truths whether they are said in the scriptures or by elders. It is clear that the invisible God appears in these visible forms. Shraddha Karma can be done at home. It is the responsibility of the children to pay tributes to the parents and ancestors performing Pinda Pradhab and ensuring a better future for them. Pinda Pradhan should be performed for the liberation of the souls of parents and ancestors in the Pancha Gaya Shrines (five) viz., Shiro Gaya (Bihar), Nabhi Gaya (Orissa), Pada Gaya (Andhra Pradesh), Matru Gaya (Siddhapur, Gujarat) and Brahma Kapal (Badrinath) which are regarded as Pitrumukti Kshetra. For the convenience of those who are unable to perform pinda pradhan in Panch Gaya Shrines due to lack of physical and financial strength, we are providing the availability of priests along with the details of Ashrams and Satrams in (Varanasi) Kashi, Gaya, Prayag Raj for the convenience of those who wish to do it in these Shrines.

We inform that all ashrams and satras in Varanasi (Kashi) facilitate with only South Indian vegetarian meals.

  1. Kashi Annapurna Annakshetra Trust, Laksa Road, Ramakund: Sri Annapurna Math Mandirmandu Kashi Annapurna Annakshetra Trust, Varanasi located at Laksa Road, Ramakund Nandu Vishwanadha Temple and pilgrims can have Annadanam and allotment of 13 rooms on the first and second floors of the building on free of hire charges as per their availability.   2. Sri Kashi Gayatri Ashram Ramapura Laksaroad: Sri Kashi Gayatri Ashram, run by Sri Abburi Harihara Sastry, located in Ramapura Luksa Road possessed two buildings for accommodation and separate dining halls for Brahmins and others. Annadan facility is available to the residents as well as others in the ashrams. Pinda pradan and tarpan are organised and performed by Priests at Manikarnika Ghat, which is best for rituals itself. AC and non AC rooms and dormitory in the Ashrams have lift facility. Therefore, it is convenient for the elderly and those with physical problems such as knee pain. The ashram management has good relations with other ashrams and hotels in Kashi. The ashram has all the necessary facilities for pilgrims. Ashram will arrange for anointing to Vishwanath, Saffron worship to Annapurna and Visalakshi in Varanasi. The management will arrange vehicles, priests etc. to perform Pinda Pradhan in Gaya and Prayag Raj. The ashram is conveniently located near Vishwanadha Temple on Ramapura Laksa Road. According to the legend, when the doer is not able to perform Shraddha Karma or Pinda Pradhan, a Brahmin is appointed and arranged to perform Shraddha Karma and Pinda Pradhan through them. Apart from that, there is a facility of live telecast the rituals  for those who have the desire to do or have the desire to do Pitru Karma and those who are living in foreign countries due to employment or those who have the desire to do Pitra Karma but who are not physically strong or unable to perform the ritual, as stated in the Shastra, they can use a Brahmin instead of them and perform the annual and yearly programs.   3. Sri Kashi Annapurna Vasavi Arya Vaisya Vruddha Ashram and Nityannadana Satram: There are two Choultries of Sri Kashi Annapurna Vasavi Arya Vaishya Satram in Gurubhag area at Laksha Road in Kashi. Only Arya Vaisyas have admission and Annadanam facilities in these two Choultries. They will Arrange vehicles to pilgrims to go to other places. Brahmins will not be arranged for adoration, anointing and for Pinda Pradhan. Their branches are located in the famous shrines of the country.   4. Kashi Yatra Bhavan (Palakolluvari Satram) Laksa Gurubhag Road: Kashi Yatra Bhawan, which is said to be Palakollu Vari Satram located in Laksa Gurubhag  and  the A.C. and non AC rooms are free to the pilgrims along with Annadanam    for two days besides providing free vehicle transport facility to the elder and disabled persons before 7 am to visit the temple. Full details are not known. Since it is a fact that their financial support is not known, the management of the Yatra Bhavan can be contacted on 7499123456 and 7526055510 to know the reality of the matters stated by them.

In addition to the above there are many more Choultries and Ashrams along with guest houses in Varanasi (Kashi). Most of the above Choultries and ashrams are located in Ramapura Laksa Road (1.5 km/15 min walk from Vishwanadh Temple) and Sonapura (1.5 km from Vishwanadh Temple). Bathing Ghats are close to both places. We are furnisheing the information of Ashrams and Choultries located in Ramapura and Luxa Road. We have compiled the above information based on our own knowledge and ascertain opinions from others. Kindly notice if any mistakes found. There is no Choultry or Ashram having free accommodation facility except Kashi Yatra Bhavan also called as Palakollu Choultry. Service orientation is low. Profitability is high. It appears that there is tough competition between Choultries and Ashrams.

Sri Kasi Gayatri Ashram located at Ramapura are the only places that have the facilities of advance booking along with accommodation, meals, organising rituals and vehicles to  pilgrims.

We request pilgrims to repeatedly enquire themselves besides reading all the facilities provided by each inn and ashram and take an appropriate decision with keen understanding. Though there are many Ashrams and Choultries perform Annadan and the Special results by donating financial aid to the Choultries and Ashrams besides the importance of Annadan to pilgrims along with the details of the inns and ashrams that provide Annadan service to the pilgrims in our next post Kasi Yatra, part of Full Pilgrimage.
