The Navabrahma Temples in Alampur were built 1300 years ago. All the nine Temples are Shiva temples. Bala Brahmendra Swamy Temple is the main temple among the Nava Brahma Temples. Alampur is one among the submerged areas in Srisailam Project. The then temple trustee who is an archaeologist felt that the submergence of the town and temples forego their influence, persuaded the Village Elders and utilised the compensation received for reconstruction of the Village for construction of a protection wall around the Village and temples. Though the protection wall is around the village, it is in less height in the west side and too much height on the eastern side like a fort wall. Though the river on the eastern side of the Village flows with high capacity in the rainy season, the flood water could not enter into the village. All the dirty water in the Village mingles into the Jogulamba Vagu in the centre of the town and flow towards Tungabhadra. Since the protection wall objects its flow, the water lift with motor into the River. This temple is under the custody of the Archaeological Survey of India.
