There are eight ancient temples in one Longitude in India. Kedareswar in North and Mukteswar of Kaleswar, Srikalahastiswar of Sri Srikalahasti, Ekambareswarar of Kanchipuram, Arunachaleswar of Tiruvannamalai, Natarajar of Chidambaram and Ramanatheswar of Rameswaram in Southern India. Among the eight temples five shrines indicates five natural elements. The five natural elements are Earth, Water, Fire, Air and Space. These five natural elements have five shrines in Southern India. Ekambareswar of Kanchi represents the element Earth (Prudhvi), Jambukeswar of Tiruvnaikanal represents Water (Jala), Natarajar of Chidambaram represents Space (Akasa), Srikalahastiswar of Srikalahasti represents Air (Vayu) and Arunachaleswar of Tiruvannamalai represents Fire(Agni). Legends says that these five temples are in one Longitude as per Yogic Science.
Shiva is the controller of five elements in nature namely Earth, Water, Fire, Air and Space. He is being worshipped as the incarnation of the five elements (Panch Bhutha). The five shrines are praised as famous Shrines of Lord Shiva from so many centuries. According to the Hindu faith, the different types of spices formed due to the elements Earth, Water, Air, Fire and Space. As per the ancient Ayurveda the human body ruled by Pancha Bhoota namely Kapha (Phlegm), Pitta (Bile), Air (Gas), Dhatu (Dhatu) and Mala (Waste Things). The basis of biomass is the Pancha Bhoota namely Earth, Air, Fire, Water and Space. Shiva represents the five elements in the five famous Shrines. It is believed that devotees visit thee five shrines continuously in a tour, their curses will be removed and they reach to the feet of Lord Shiva.
